Built as the shrine of Saint Cuthbert over 900 years ago, it remains a site of pilgrimage with a rich cultural history, housing tombs of two great saints. Visitors are drawn to the Cathedral as a filming location for the Harry Potter films and Marvel Avengers: Endgame, and for its magnificent Romanesque architecture which makes it an unmissable stop for any tour in Durham.
