Day One

Depart Cheadle at 08:30am, with stops en route (including Cheltenham for lunch). Arrive in Weymouth late afternoon, check-in to The Crown Hotel, and relax before a 3-course dinner with evening entertainment. The Crown Hotel is a 3-star hotel ideally located in Weymouth, overlooking the historic fishing harbour and Town Bridge, just minutes from Brewer's Quay and a 5-minute walk to the sandy beach.

 

Day Two

Visit Abbotsbury Swannery, home to the worldonly managed colony of mute swans. In the afternoon, explore Dorchester, its Thomas Hardy connections, museums, and shops.

 

Day Three

Spend the day in Weymouth, enjoying its Georgian seafront, old harbour, arts and antique shops, Sealife Centre, or simply relaxing by the beach.

 

Day Four

Enjoy a boat cruise along the Jurassic Coast to Swanage. Visit Swanage and Corfe Castle Village, then return by the Swanage Steam Railway.

 

Day Five

Check out after breakfast, arrive home late afternoon.

Day One

We will depart Cheadle at 0830 and make some stops en route to Weymouth possibly stopping in Cheltenham for a lunch break arriving in Weymouth late afternoon in time to check in the Hotel and relax before dinner. Dinner each nigh is 3 courses. After dinner there will be musical entertainment and bingo.

Day Two

This morning we visit the very unique Abbotsbury Swannery, the world’s only managed colony of nesting mute swans. Spread over 25 acres located on the dramatic Dorset coast, the Swannery was established by Benedictine Monks in 1040, and is now one of Dorset’s most popular wildlife sites. We spend the afternoon in Dorchester, the vibrant county town of Dorset, discovering its connection to Thomas Hardy and exploring its shops and interesting museums which include the Dorset County Museum and the Keep Military Museum.

Day Three

Day 3 Weymouth
We spend a relaxing day in Weymouth, one of the UK’s most beautiful seaside resorts with a fine Georgian seafront, esplanade and impressive golden sands. Take a stroll around the picturesque old harbour area and visit Brewer’s Quay which is full of arts, crafts and antique shops, visit the Sealife Centre or just sit and relax, enjoying the views and watching the world go by.

Day Four


Day 4 Poole Harbour & Swanage Steam Railway
This morning, we make our way to Poole Harbour to embark on a 1 hour boat cruise down the Jurassic coast to the Victorian pier and the beautiful traditional seaside resort of Swanage. We spend time here before embarking on a six mile scenic journey with the award winning Swanage Steam Railway, through picturesque Purbeck to idyllic Corfe Castle Village, where we spend time exploring the village before returning by train to Swanage and sailing back to Poole.

We will check out and leave Weymouth after breakfast and make our way home arriving late afternoon
